Family Spice Dietician Apameh Bashar

Apameh Bashar, RD, CNSD

For more than 20 years, I have been dedicated to the field of nutrition and have gained experience in food service, outpatient services, research and clinical nutrition. This field has always been close to my heart. As an overweight child, at a young age, I had believed by incorporating good nutrition and exercise in my daily routine, I could achieve an ideal weight. I was very successful at my goal! So when I graduated from high school, I knew exactly my major was going to be Human Nutrition and Dietetics.

My current area of interest as a Registered Dietitian (RD) with certification in Nutrition Support (CNSD) is in the intensive care unit (ICU) providing aggressive nutrition support to trauma, pulmonary and cardiac ICU patients. I also provide patient education for various diseases such as diabetes, renal, liver disease, etc. Mentoring Dietetics students is one of my passions. Providing lectures to the community and medical staff on health and nutrition is routinely a part of my focus. I have several published abstracts in the area of nutrition support. My plan is to continue in the hospital setting in the ICU.
